On the morning of August 31, Gongjiacun Tunnel, the longest tunnel on Changde-Yiyang-Changsha HSR, was successfully completed, which not only created favorable conditions for the girder erection and track laying in the next stage, but also ensured the opening-to-traffic of the whole line on schedule.
With a total length of 189.8 km and a design speed of 350 km/h, Changde-Yiyang-Changsha HSR serves as an important part of both two major corridors, namely Xiamen-Chongqing and Hohhot-Nanning corridors, in China's HSR network of "eight north-south lines and eight east-west lines”. Changde-Yiyang-Changsha HSR is of great significance for the industrial and urban integration of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster with Yiyang-Changde industrial belt, and the optimization of the transportation network in the northwest of Hunan.
