Multiple Indicators of Railway Freight Hit New High in October

  The fourth quarter has always been the golden season for railway freight. Grasping the favorable freight sources, the transportation system of the railway sector vigorously launched a campaign in October to increase transport volume and income. From national railways to CR regional groups, a series of important freight indicators such as loading, unloading, cargo delivery volume and train delivery-receiving at demarcation points have repeatedly broken records, with remarkable performance in increasing transport volume and income.

  On October 31, 10.278 million tons of cargoes were delivered by railways nationwide, hitting a new single-day high. In October, an average of 162,000 wagons were loaded daily, setting a new high in monthly average freight loading volume, with a year-on-year increase of 13,000 wagons (8.8%). In October, the historical records of single-day railway freight loading nationwide were broken for four times, of which the highest daily record of 168,003 wagons was reached on October 19. CR regional groups of Shenyang, Beijing, Taiyuan, Ji'nan, Shanghai and Nanchang have hit new highs in single-day loading for a total of 18 times. Statistics show that in the first 10 months, 2.808 billion tons of cargoes were delivered by railways nationwide, up 169 million tons (6.4%) year on year. Since the launching of the "Ensuring Safety, Stability and Operation; Increasing Transport Volume, Revenue and Benefit" campaign, the deficit in railway freight transport nationwide has been made up, totaling up to 26.413 million tons.

  In October, 168,000 wagons were unloaded averagely on a daily basis by railways nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 11,669 wagons. On October 20 and 26, the number of unloaded wagons on the railways nationwide hit new highs twice, of which 175,001 wagons were unloaded on October 26. CR regional groups of Shenyang, Beijing, Ji'nan, Nanning, Chengdu, Kunming and Lanzhou have reached a record high of single-day unloaded wagons in their own companies for 30 times in total.

  In October, the daily average train delivery-receiving at demarcation points by railways nationwide reached 4,712 trains (247,000 wagons), up 336 trains (18,347 wagons) from the same period last year. The historical records of single-day train delivery-receiving by railways nationwide have been broken twice. CR regional groups of Beijing, Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Kunming have made a total of 16 single-day train delivery-receiving records of their own companies at demarcation points.
