This year's winter transportation for cotton pickers will continue from early November to early December 2019. According to passenger flow forecasts, about 65,000 cotton pickers will go south to return home in this period. Sichuan is one of their main destinations. For this reason, China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd. has specially added two pairs of trains in Chengdu-Aksu and Chengdu-Urumqi for transporting cotton pickers in Xinjiang. Based on the existing transport capacity, nearly 3,000 seats will be added in a single day.
The car department of China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd. will strengthen the formation and servicing of trains to Xinjiang before departure, to ensure the wind and cold resistance of trains.
During this winter transportation, China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd. will assign 5 groups of car bodies to take on the task of additional transportation, including 2 groups of "green cars" and 3 groups of direct power supply air-conditioning trains with the sewage collecting system. In the servicing of green cars, Chengdu Car Depot will focus on checking the tightness of windows, doors and other parts, replacing soft rubber strips and other parts to ensure the cold resistance of the whole car.
In addition, aiming at the central heating problem of green cars, the car department of China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd. maintained the heating boilers and pipelines of the cars to ensure the heating quality. In terms of passenger transport services, Chengdu Passenger Depot has carefully selected personnel to take on the crew work of the additional trains, and has offered hometown-style boxed meals. Thanks to warm and considerate service on the trains, cotton pickers will feel comfortable as if they are at home.
