Railway Wind-Proof and Sand-Fixing System Ensures Train Operation Safety

Recently, a train on the Baotou-Lanzhou Railway passed the bend of the Yellow River in the Shapotou area of Zhongwei, Ningxia. To ensure train operation safety on the Baotou-Lanzhou Railway, desert control workers created the “5-in-1 railway wind-proof and sand-fixing system”, which consists of the grass-square-desert-control technology, the sand-fixing firebreak, the irrigation afforestation belt, the grass-blocking belt, the front-sand-blocking belt and the enclosed grass belt, and built a 60-kilometer wind-proof and sand-fixing belt on both sides of the railway.
