All 56 Tunnels on Main Line of New Chongqing-Wanzhou
High Speed Railway Bored Through

On April 12, the Changlinggang Tunnel, a key project along the entire new Chongqing-Wanzhou High Speed Railway, was successfully bored through. With this breakthrough, all 56 tunnels on the main line of the new Chongqing-Wanzhou High Speed Railway have been completed, laying a solid foundation for the railway's scheduled opening to traffic.
The new Chongqing-Wanzhou High Speed Railway is an important component of the Beijing-Kunming and Baotou-Haikou corridors, which are primary routes in China's "Eight North-South and Eight East-West" high-speed railway network, and also serves as an important supplement to the Yangtze River Corridor High Speed Railway. The main line spans 251 kilometers with a design speed of 350 km/h.
