On April 3, track laying officially commenced along the entire new Chongqing-Wanzhou High Speed Railway. Currently, civil works such as subgrade, bridges and tunnels for the railway have been basically completed, while station buildings and the "four-electric" project are advancing steadily according to schedule.
The Chongqing-Wanzhou High Speed Railway is an important part of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Haikou and Beijing-Kunming corridors of China's "Eight North-South and Eight East-West" high-speed railway network. The line starts at Chongqingdong Railway Station and ends at Wanzhoubei Railway Station, with a main line length of 251 kilometers and a design speed of 350 km/h.
