Breakthrough Achieved on the Longest Tunnel of the Second Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High Speed Railway

 

  

      On September 24, the Huangjiashi Tunnel of the Second Chengdu-Chongqing  Middle Line High Speed Railway was successfully completed. With a total length of 4,682 meters and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, it is the longest tunnel along the entire line. The tunnel passes through the Chengdu and Longquan mountain ranges, posing significant construction challenges. The Second Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High Speed Railway is a key national railway project under China's 14th Five-Year Plan and a landmark project in the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. Upon completion,   the fastest travel time between Chengdu and Chongqing will be reduced to under one hour.
