Lianyungang-Zhenjiang High Speed Railway Fully Opens to Traffic on December 11

  On December 11, the Huai'an-Dantu section of Lianyungang-Zhenjiang HSR was put into operation, and Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge in the section, the world's first high-speed and heavy haul rail-road suspension bridge, was put into service simultaneously, which marks the opening-to-traffic of the entire Lianyungang-Zhenjiang HSR. Now, it only takes 2 hours and 9 minutes to travel from Lianyungang to Zhenjiang.

  Running through Jiangsu Province from north to south, the Lianyungang-Zhenjiang HSR starts from Dongji Station on Qingdao-Yancheng Railway in the north, connects with Xuzhou-Yancheng HSR in Huai'an in the south, passes through Gaoyou, Yangzhou, and ends at Dantu Station on Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway after crossing the Yangtze River. The HSR has a total length of 304km, of which the Dongji-Huai'an section was put into operation on December 16, 2019. The Huai'an-Dantu section opening to traffic this time has a length of 199 km, with seven stations including Huai'an East Station, Baoying Station, Gaoyou North Station, Gaoyou Station, Yangzhou East Station, Dagang South Station and Dantu Station.
