On July 29, on the Yaoli River Super Major Bridge in Mayang, Hunan Province, more than 100 railway builders worked hard under the scorching sun and successfully laid the trial section of ballastless track on Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua Railway, marking the track laying on Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua Railway is in full swing, and the railway is not far from its opening-to-traffic.

With a total length of about 246 km and a design speed of 350 km/h, Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua Railway passes through six poverty-stricken counties such as Mayang, Fenghuang and Yongshun, and famous scenic spots and ancient cities such as Zhangjiajie, Furong Ancient Town and Fenghuang Ancient City. The railway is designed with a total of 7 stations, namely, Zhangjiajie West Station, Furong Town Station, Guzhang West Station, Jishou East Station, Fenghuang Station, Mayang West Station and Huaihua South Station. The railway is connected with Qianjiang-Changde Railway in Zhangjiajie and Shanghai-Kunming HSR in Huaihua, thus incorporating western Hunan into China's HSR network.

Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua Railway will reduce the trip time between Huaihua and Zhangjiajie from 3.5 hours to 1 hour. It is of great significance for improving the traffic conditions and helping poverty alleviation in the areas along the route, improving Hunan's express railway network, and realizing the balanced railway layout in Hunan.
