  1. Project brief. The western inner Mongolia-Central China Railway Corridor Western inner Mongolia-Central China Railway Western inner Mongolia-Central China Railway Corridorstarts from Haolebaoji South Station in Ordos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north, passes through Wushen Banner, Jingbian, Yan'an, Yichuan and Hancheng in Shaanxi Province, Hejin, Wanrong and Yuncheng in Shanxi Province, Sanmenxia, Lushi, Xixia and Dengzhou in Henan Province, Xiangyang, Jingmen, Jingzhou, Jiangling and Gongan in Hubei Province, Shishou, Huarong, Yueyang, Pingjiang, and Liuyang in Hunan Province, Tonggu and Xinyu in Jiangxi Province, and ends at Ji'an Station of Beijing-Kowloon Railway. The total length of the railway is 1806.5km, of which Haolebaoji South Station-Yueyang section is 1375.3km long, and Yueyang-Ji’an section is 431.2km long. A total of 84 stations have been set up along the line, and 78 stations have recently opened. The total estimated investment approved by feasibility study is RMB193.04 billion. The construction of Western inner Mongolia-Central China Railway coal transportation project is conducive to constructing a new channel for the "coal transportation from north to south" railway in China, improving the railway network layout, developing coal resources in the Mongolian-Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia region, protecting energy supply in Central China such as Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi, and promoting economic and social development along the line.

  2. Main technical standards. State Railway Class I, Haolebaoji South Station-Yueyang section is a double-track, and Yueyang-Ji’an section is single-track and reserved for double-track; electric traction. The designed speed is 120km/h and the Jingyue section is 200 km/h.

  3. Progress. The construction started in March 2015. At present, station construction is progressing smoothly. The total construction period of the line can be advanced to December 1, 2019.
