On the morning of October 24, a delegation of "Diplomats Retracing the Silk Road" organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China visited the reconstructed logistics center of Guiyang South Railway Station. The diplomats from embassies of 16 countries in China, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt and Ethiopia, investigated the construction of Guizhou Railway Port and the operation of the reconstructed logistics center.

The reconstructed logistics center is a main railway port in Guizhou and a main port of the southern corridor of the Belt and Road Initiative in Guizhou. It plays an important role in improving Guizhou's opening environment and promoting trade exchanges between Guizhou and cities in other countries.

On the morning of that day, the delegation visited the container freight area in the reconstructed logistics center, learned the development status of rail-sea intermodal transportation and logistics industry in Guiyang, and expressed admiration for the construction scale of Guizhou land transportation port and the rapid development of railway freight in recent years.

Later, the delegation visited the reconstructed big-data warehousing system. The diplomats from embassies of 16 countries in China also communicated and discussed with the head of the reconstructed logistics center and raised questions about the port's service scope, management system and handling capacity.

Shi Zhiguang, Minister of Malaysia's Embassy in China, said: "The reconstructed logistics center has given me a better understanding of China's land transportation ports. The pace of construction here is amazing. I wish to know more about Guizhou in the future."

Located in Mengguan Town, Huaxi District, Guiyang City, the reconstructed logistics center was opened in 2011. The freight yard covers a total land area of 2403 mu and has a design annual capacity of 24.5 million tons. It is the first-class logistics center and one of the 40 container dedicated stations in the railway network of China.
