Since the first operation of Urumqi-Tianjin sea-rail intermodal demonstration block train on September 4, a train full of goods arrives at Tianjin Port in every two days. These goods are then shipped to eastern and southern China, Europe, South America, Africa and other places. The Urumqi-Tianjin sea-rail intermodal demonstration block train service is now in regular operation.
The goods of the Urumqi-Tianjin sea-rail intermodal demonstration block train are concentrated at the Urumqi Assembly Center of the China-Europe block trains and transported in sea shipping containers for the whole journey. With the compression of transportation cycle and the increase of density of block trains, the transportation cost of enterprises has been cut by 20% to 30%.
