On January 10, 2020, the "Large-scale Science and Technology Exhibition - Science and Technology Innovation Makes Life Better" jointly sponsored by the Macao SAR Government and the China Association for Science and Technology and organized by the China Science and Technology Museum, the Macao Association for Promotion of Science and Technology and the Macao Science Center was opened in the Macao Science Center. Raimundo Arrais do Rosário, representative of the Chief Executive of Macao SAR and Secretary for Transport and Public Works, and Meng Qinghai, vice-chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and member of the Secretariat, attended the opening ceremony. This exhibition consists of two parts: "National Science and Technology Exhibition Area" and "Macao Science Popularization and Science and Technology Innovation Exhibition Area". It focuses on the achievements of science and technology innovations since the founding of New China 70 years ago and Macao's return to the motherland 20 years ago.
In the "National Science and Technology Exhibition Area", the Fuxing EMU train, along with the C919 large passenger plane, Chang'e-3 lander, FAST radio telescope, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and other scientific and technological innovations attracted great interest from the audience. The on-site staff took the Fuxing EMU train as an example and said: "The train is displayed in dynamic projections, so that the children of Macao can feel that the Fuxing EMU train operates in a very wide range, covering the great rivers and mountains of our motherland, and runs at a very fast speed. Now the projection shows the EMU train operating in Yadan landform in northwest China. The four windows (of EMU train) show the technical principles of the EMU train and the relevant scientific and educational films." "Macao Science Popularization and Science and Technology Innovation Exhibition Area" shows the achievements of science and technology innovations since Macao's return to China 20 years ago, as well as the 5G application experience.
The exhibition will last for one and a half months from January 10 to February 28, 2020. In addition to a large number of scientific and technological innovation exhibits, a series of supporting activities such as popular science performances were also held, which were well received by the audience.
