10th World Congress on High Speed Rail

The World Congress on High Speed Rail is an international conference with the highest level and the most significant influence in global high speed railway industry. The conference focuses on the development of high speed railways in the world, sharing development achievements, as well as enhancing exchanges and cooperation. The conference, founded by UIC and co-organized by the railway company of the host country, is held every 2-3 years. Since 1992, it has been held in France, Germany, Spain, the United States, Japan and other countries for 10 times with the representatives from dozens of countries around the world. In 2010, with the approval of the State Council of P.R. China, China’s former Ministry of Railways and UIC jointly held the 7th World Congress on High Speed Rail, which played an important role in promoting the development of the world's high speed railway.

In May 2018, at the closing ceremony of the 10th World Congress on High Speed Rail held in Turkey, the UIC officially announced that the 11th World Congress on High Speed Rail would be jointly organized by UIC and CHINA RAILWAY.
